Marcus Martin, Arik Armstead working out together in San Diego

The San Francisco 49ers do not kick off their offseason workout program until April, but in the meantime, players are involved in a variety of workouts around the country. We've heard about Colin Kaepernick rehabbing in Vail, Colorado. Now, we have word on a couple other players. Marcus Martin tweeted out this picture from an EXOS workout facility, and he is seen with Arik Armstead.

Armstead previously mentioned being in San Diego, so I'm guessing they are both at the EXOS San Diego facility.

This is a big offseason for Martin. He has gotten significant opportunities over his first two seasons. He took over the center position in 2014 after Daniel Kilgore suffered his ankle injury. He kept the role heading into 2015, but he was a clear step down from Kilgore. When the latter returned from the PUP list, he replaced Martin in the lineup. Martin got a start at right guard late in the season, and will likely be competing for either the right guard starting spot, or a utility interior line role. He needs to impress or he could be on his way out the door.

On a side note, these are my two favorite responses to Martin's tweet:
