The NFL combine is an important time for teams to evaluate college players that can help their roster reach the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl. The 49ers are in Indianapolis looking to fill the many holes of their roster that can redirect their franchise to the heights of just a couple of years ago. But the most important player they will be speaking about in Indy may be Colin Kaepernick.
The 49ers are scheduled to speak with Colin's representation in Indianapolis. Colin is rehabbing from multiple injuries, but his surgeon expects him to be ready for the 2016 season. It has been reported that Colin was ready to leave the 49ers for a new team. Reports had surfaced that the relationship between management and Colin had fallen apart this past season. If both sides do reunite, the relationship would have to be rebuilt.
Another aspect of this would be the contract Colin has. He is scheduled to make $11.9 million this season. That combined with a new head coach that we are not sure wants Kap as his starting quarterback would make it easy for the 49ers to release Colin. Colin is not likely to restructure his deal for the team's sake. Regardless of what happens with Colin, the 49ers will be interested to see how the QBs in the combine perform.
