The San Francisco 49ers have begun meeting with prospects at the 2016 NFL Combine, and Notre Dame offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley was on the list. Stanley is meeting with the press today, and he told them he met with the 49ers Tuesday evening.
Stanley arrived with the other offensive linemen on Tuesday, and was measured in on Wednesday. He measured in at 6'6, 312 pounds, with 35 5/8 inch arms (4th longest), and 10 5/8 inch hands (tied for 3rd biggest). He has been mocked to the 49ers on a few occasions, and given the team's potential need at right tackle, it is not surprising. Anthony Davis has said he will return, but has not yet filed for reinstatement. If he does come back, he would likely be competing with Trenton Brown for the right tackle job. If Davis does not return, Brown is still an option, but it would make sense to add further depth along the line.
Stanley had this to say about mock drafts:
Good line from OT Ronnie Stanley, a definite possibility to #49ers. "I definitely don't pay attention to mock drafts. They're usually wrong.

The 49ers will meet with numerous prospects at the Combine, and they obviously will not draft many of them, if any at all. But, it is still interesting to track the many meetings. I'll have a full rundown of meetings to date later this week.
