The 2016 NFL Combine has rolled into its second day of on-field workouts, and quarterbacks are getting things started. The 40 yard dash has never struck me as being particularly important for quarterbacks, but I get that coaches and scouts want the comparison. And it would appear San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly is keeping a close eye on things.

This is not exactly a shocking revelation, as I imagine he times them every year. Trent Baalke has personnel control, but Chip Kelly will likely have plenty of input into the quarterback position.
We'll have a full rundown of QB performances later today, but in the meantime, unofficial times are coming in. The NFL will announce "official" 40 times later in the morning, but half the quarterbacks have made their first two attempts at the 40. Louisiana Tech quarterback Jeff Driskell has the fastest QB 40 thus far, coming in at 4.56 and 4.57 in his two attempts. Cal QB Jared Goff ran 4.84 and then 4.83, while Oregon QB Vernon Adams ran 4.84 and 4.86. You can check live updates here.
