2016 NFL Combine results: Darron Lee puts up best 40 time

We run down the top performers from Sunday's linebacker workouts at the 2016 NFL Combine. Darron Lee stood out.

The 2016 NFL Combine has one more day of workouts on Monday, but linebackers and defensive linemen were on display on Sunday. Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee was the only linebacker to come in under 4.50 in the 40-yard dash, and generally had a strong afternoon at the Combine. He is a guy some have projected in the first round, and his Sunday performance might be enough to give him a little bump up.

Lee does not appear to be a linebacker the 49ers would take at No. 7, but if they dealt back, he would seem to be a potential option. He played outside linebacker in the Ohio State 4-3 defense. At 6'1 232 pounds, he certainly would not be an outside linebacker for the 49ers, but could very well move inside. Strength and size remain an issue. I suppose he could add some weight, but Dane Brugler suggested in his scouting report that he has a maxed out build on a narrow torso. I don't know nearly enough about body types to confirm or deny that.
