2016 NFL Combine results: Jalen Ramsey takes care of business

We run down the top performers from Monday's defensive back workouts at the 2016 NFL Combine. Jalen Ramsey put together a strong showing.

The 2016 NFL Combine has come to a close, and that meant defensive backs were on display. The 49ers have some needs in the secondary, but it is hard to tell how high they would go to add more depth to the position. Do they go for a Jalen Ramsey or Vernon Hargreaves to add a long-term option? Or do they stick with what they've got, add some depth, and move forward?

Two of the top defensive backs in the draft are Jalen Ramsey and Vernon Hargreaves. Both performed well, solidifying first day status, and likely a high pick. Ramsey shined in particular with a 4.41 40, and position leading 41.5" vertical and 135.0" long jump. For Ramsey though, it will be a matter of a team deciding whether to stick him at cornerback or safety. It seems more often than not that a team taking him in the top ten would want him in a cornerback role, but if they think he can be an even more dominant safety, I suppose they can justify it to themselves.
