Arik Armstead attended Media Day as reporter instead of player (auto-play)

San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Arik Armstead is originally from Sacramento, and he is getting a chance to get involved with Super Bowl activities with a hometown news station. Armstead attended Monday's "Opening Night" media day festivities, but it was in a different role than player. Armstead took an ABC 10 camera crew with him and conducted a series of interviews like any other member of the media.

The video above comes from the Denver Broncos portion of the evening. The video below is his interview with Carolina Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson, who also happens to be from Sacramento. You can view a photo gallery and read more about Armstead's experience here.

Armstead and the rest of the 49ers reconvene for the offseason workout program in early April. In the meantime, I imagine he'll take some time off, and also get his own private workouts in to get ready for the 2016 season. For now though, he got to have a little fun and learn what it is like in another profession.
