It has finally arrived! Super Bowl 50 kicks off at 3:35 p.m. PT, wrapping up the 2015 season. It was not a pretty season for the San Francisco 49ers, but the close of it means we are that much closer to figuring out what Chip Kelly will bring to the table in 2016!
The Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos are squaring off for the Lombardi Trophy at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The game will air on CBS with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms in the booth, Tracy Wolfson and Evan Washburn on the sideline, and I believe Mike Carey as their referee analyst.
The Panthers are a 5.5-point favorite, with heavy public money on their side. That is often a good reason to run screaming to the other side, but I still think Carolina wins with relative ease. The key for Denver will be that defense keeping Carolina contained. I feel like the Broncos cannot let the Panthers jump out to a two score lead. If they are playing from more than a touchdown behind, I don't think Denver would be able to come back.
I'm hoping for a good game, but we'll see what it all brings. This will serve as our Super Bowl open thread. We'll see how busy it gets before opening up a new thread.
