Vernon Davis gave 2 Super Bowl tickets to cancer patient

Over the weekend, we learned that San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Joe Staley had donated his two Super Bowl tickets to a family that had gone through some tough times. It turns out he was not the only person to give away Super Bowl tickets.

Former 49ers tight end Vernon Davis gave two tickets to an 18-year old undergoing treatment for a form of childhood cancer. Alex Walter was at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. This actually is taking place several years after he had to get a heart transplant due to being born with congenital heart disease. Suffice to say, Walter has been through a heck a lot.

We give Vernon a lot of crap, but this is a very cool thing to do. He's generally seemed like the friendly sort, so it is cool to see him making this young man's day in a big way.
