The San Francisco 49ers have been busy this month at the various college Pro Days, and March 10 was no different. The team had folks on hand for the Mississippi State Pro Day, and they met with a handful of players. We likely don't know about every meeting, but we have an idea of a few. Earlier this week we learned the team met with linebacker Beniquez Brown. A subsequent report from DraftInsider.net's Tony Pauline reveals the team also met with wide receiver De'Runnya Wilson and cornerback Taveze Calhoun.
Those three are on the lower end of the spectrum of MSU prospects. ESPN's big board has Brown No. 177 overall, Wilson No. 260, and Calhoun unranked. CBSSports.com has Wilson projected as a sixth round pick, Calhoun as a 7th or UDFA, and Brown as a UDFA.
Wilson improved his 40 time from the Combine, running 4.71 and 4.78 after putting up a 4.85 at the Combine. The 49ers met with him after his workout. The 49ers met with Brown and Calhoun the day before the Pro Day. I am not sure if that means more meeting privately a day in advance, but I figure it's at least worth a mention.
