Golden Nuggets: Trade Talks Stall

All the trade talk for Colin Kaepernick quickly evaporated. Last week, it looked as Colin was going to be traded fairly quick, but now the trade talks are at a stalemate. The Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets were the teams rumored to be interested in trading for him. The Broncos apparently believe that he is worth a 4th round pick, but they do not have a 4th round pick in this draft. Colin is rumored to be keen on a move to Cleveland and Hue Jackson, but the Browns haven't made much progress for him.

The team hasn't been active in acquiring new talent, but they have brought back some of their own back. On day 1, it was resigning Ian Williams and today, they resign Phil Dawson. Phil was consistent as always and it's good they rewarded his consistent play with a 1 year deal.

The coaching staff will need to rehire a new position coach. Hardy Nickerson, who was hired as linebackers coach, has decided to take a defensive coordinator position at the University of Illinois. He will rejoin new head coach Lovie Smith, whose staff he was on in Tampa Bay.
