49ers Super Bowl 51 odds drop after first week of free agency

This is not exactly surprising considering the 49ers inactivity during free agency.

The NFL officially opened the second week of free agency on Wednesday (yes, it's only been one week), and with that, Bovada released their latest round of odds for Super Bowl 51. It should surprise nobody the 49ers remain pretty far down the list. The team was dropped from 50/1 to 66/1. Previously, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans were behind them at 66/1, and the Cleveland Browns were at 150/1. The Browns remain at 150/1, while the Titans dropped to 100/1. The 49ers odds are tied with the Jaguars and Miami Dolphins.

The biggest climber is the Oakland Raiders. They were 66/1 coming out of Super Bowl 50, but their run of free agency additions has seen oddsmakers drop them to 33/1. Free agency is not where you win Super Bowls, but the Raiders have done good work drafting, and these additions could be enough to push Oakland into the playoffs. The pressure will be on, but they've got a lot of talent on that roster.

The New England Patriots remain Super Bowl favorites at 15/2. They were previously tied with the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks at 9/1. Carolina and Seattle dropped to 10/1. The Cardinals dropped from 14/1 to 16/1. Considering their recent addition of Chandler Jones, I would be more inclined to bet on the Cardinals than Seattle or Carolina at 10/1. Even if you're skeptical of Carson Palmer in the playoffs, this defense could be really good in 2016.

Here are the full Super Bowl 51 odds as of March 14, 2016.
