Robert Griffin III visited Cleveland Browns

The free agent quarterback added a second stop on his tour of NFL teams.

The Cleveland Browns joined the list of potential Robert Griffin III suitors this weekend, hosting the free agent quarterback for a visit. Mike Garafolo reported RG3 is now on his way out of Cleveland, and it "sound[ed] like a good visit." It sounds similar to his meeting with the New York Jets in that it was mostly a chance to get an introduction, and likely go over some of the medical issues he's dealt with during his NFL career.

The San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos are the two other teams of note that might need a quarterback. RG3 has been connected to the 49ers, but there has been no official meeting of the two sides. If the 49ers get a Colin Kaepernick deal done, there is a belief that they would potentially bring RG3 in for a visit.

If the reports about Trent Baalke being a fan of Blaine Gabbert are true, I wonder if the team would even bother bringing in RG3. You can never have enough quarterbacks, but I could see the 49ers drafting a player, and signing a career backup. RG3 might be left to compete for a backup role eventually, but I feel like he is going places where he has a strong chance of starting. If the 49ers pursue RG3, my feeling is that it will only happen if Chip Kelly pushes on it with Trent Baalke.
