The San Francisco 49ers continue to hang on to Colin Kaepernick, but if you think he will end up with the Denver Broncos, you can win a few bucks. Bovada.lv has posted odds on which quarterback will be starting for the Denver broncos when week 1 of the 2016 regular season arrives. Mark Sanchez is the favorite (excluding "Field"), but that is likely due to primarily being the only one on the list who is actually on the Broncos roster. Here is the prop bet:
Who will be the starting QB for the Denver Broncos for Game 1 of the 2016 Regular Season?
Mark Sanchez: 5/2
Colin Kaepernick: 7/2
Ryan Fitzpatrick: 15/2
2016 NFL Draft Pick: 3/1
Other: 13/10
The 49ers have said they will keep him for the coming season if they can't get a deal done. That is possible, but I am skeptical (as I have made very clear). If Kaepernick is on the 49ers roster April 1, it would seem likely that this would push things along with a bit more speed. The 49ers offseason workout program begins April 4, and sources close to Kap have said he will report. However, those first few weeks are primarily strength and conditioning, and he will be working on rehab. That means getting him dealt would not be a huge problem in terms of getting the offense figured out for players remaining on the team.
For now, we are eight days away, and I am tempted to put some money down on this.
