DiAndre Campbell, Dylan Thompson, Colin Kelly doing work

49ers doing work!

Plenty of big names on the San Francisco 49ers have been spotted working out around the country. However, the under-the-radar members of the roster are also keeping busy. Wide receiver DiAndre Campbell posted some video to Instagram earlier this week following a workout with quarterback Dylan Thompson and offensive lineman Colin Kelly.

Thompson's situation is dependent on the 49ers plans with Colin Kaepernick and the draft. If the 49ers trade or release Kaepernick, it opens up a spot....until the team likely drafts a quarterback in April. If Kaepernick stays, he and Gabbert are at the top of the depth chart, and the team still could decide to draft a quarterback. The team also signed Thad Lewis. Thompson's best shot is likely the practice squad.

Campbell signed as an undrafted free agent and spent 2015 on the practice squad. Anquan Boldin's departure, and no real emergence behind Torrey Smith opens the door for an opportunity. Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington, Eric Rogers, and others will have plenty to say, but with Chip Kelly installing his offense, Campbell arguably has the best opportunity among these three.

Kelly faces a tough competition along the offensive line just because of the sheer volume of players with draft pedigree. Marcus Martin has gotten opportunities but struggled. Brandon Thomas is coming off a high ankle sprain. The team dealt tight end Asante Cleveland for Jordan Devey, and Devey was pretty bad. And of course, there's Erik Pears. Kelly spent the last two seasons in the CFL, so he's gotten some opportunities to develop his craft. We'll see if he can emerge.
