We're now just a few days away until the April 1 contract deadline for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. On that day, Keapernick's base salary for the 2016-17 season becomes fully guaranteed and we still have no idea what's going to happen between now, then and after that date. Trade rumors have been percolating for weeks now, with the Denver Broncos still the most likely suitor for Kaepernick's services.
Whether Kaepernick and the Broncos haven't necessarily agreed on a restructured contract or the 49ers are holding fast with some kind of trade demand that the Broncos -- and other teams -- are unwilling to fulfill. It's obvious now that many reports by "insiders" were premature and nobody who isn't directly involved in negotiations has any actual idea what's going on.
So in other words, it's just another day in 49erland, everyone. Fooch is still away on his vacation, however, and I think we can all assume that the proverbial poop will hit the proverbial fan sooner rather than later. Let's get on to your links, shall we?
