Good morning everyone. The franchise tag period is over, but plenty of sure-fire craziness is right around the corner with the start of the new league year fast approaching. I don't expect the San Francisco 49ers to drop a ton of money and turn things around in one season, but we will definitely see whether or not Chip Kelly is likely to get a raw deal with the 49ers by what moves are made in free agency.
Trent Baalke will never be the "make it rain" type of general manager and as far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing. But if the 49ers don't spend some of their large amount of cap space, I think my confidence going forward will skyrocket downward. Then again, we are all doomed and as human beings we are cursed with this knowledge so I cannot say I'd be surprised by any means.
Anyway, Quinton Dial rocks. The 49ers are cool folks for extending him. Onto your links for the day.
