It's that time of year again! March is upon us, and thus begin the annual Pro Days. The 2016 NFL Draft is less than two months away, these days are crucial to all players involved. Whether he be a prospect who fell flat at the combine or a player who never even received an invite to Indy, the campus pro day can help a player boost his draft stock.
We're back for day two of Pro Days, following a quiet opening day of Northern Arizona and Vanderbilt. We get some bigger programs on display on Friday. Today's Pro Days include Alabama State, Arizona State, Eastern Kentucky, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Troy. You can view the full list of Pro Days here.
The big name to watch on Friday is outside linebacker Noah Spence. The Eastern Kentucky product is the only likely first round pick working out on Friday. He measured in at the Combine at 6'2, 251 pounds, with 33 inch arms. He ran a 4.80 40, which tied for 27th among defensive linemen and linebackers. However, his 1.62 10-yard split on his first run tied for 11th among DLs and LBs. That 10-yard split is likely a more valuable number given that it gives us a slightly better idea about that early explosion that is more valuable for a pass rusher.
Spence has been projected in the teens in recent mock drafts. He's dealt with failed drug tests, eventually getting booted out of Ohio State and banned from the Big 10. If the 49ers are interested but not prepared to spend the No. 7 pick, he's an option if they elect to trade back.
Some other prospects of note on Friday include Arizona State guard Christian Westerman, Kentucky inside linebacker Josh Forrest, and Nebraska defensive tackle Maliek Collins.
