The San Francisco 49ers quarterback situation remains a significant question mark with the draft two weeks away. Colin Kaepernick is on the trade block, and may or may not end up with the Denver Broncos. Trent Baalke is reportedly a fan of Blaine Gabbert, but Gabbert has struggled to do much in his career, and he is also only signed through the 2016 season. With Thad Lewis and Dylan Thompson as the other two quarterbacks on the roster, it would seem like a development option needs to be added.
We've been discussing the various quarterbacks, but I thought it would make some sense to take a look at the rest of the NFL and their quarterback needs. First up, I wanted to run down every team's quarterbacks and all the quarterbacks they've interacted with in the pre-draft process. This first list is strictly alphabetical order. I'll work on a more specific breakdown of which teams are likely more interested, but for now, we'll start with this.
I don't think we can ever say a team will 100 percent definitely not draft a quarterback. Teams like the Indianapolis Colts, Oakland Raiders, and Tennessee Titans probably will not select a quarterback, but the NFL has proven you can never have too many good quarterbacks. Injuries are always an issue, and it never hurts to have an extra trade asset. In reality, this list could eventually be broken down into, strong chance of taking a quarterback in the first two rounds, good chance of selecting a quarterback in middle rounds, and everybody else would be under a more general category covering the final rounds of the draft.
