Every year, the hype leading up to the draft builds and builds to an often times ridiculous crescendo. This year, we might be reaching that point, at least with regard to the top two quarterback prospects. NFL Network reporter Rand Getlin tweeted out this gem:
Been told multiple times that Carson Wentz and Jared Goff graded out higher for a number of teams than Mariota and Winston did last year.— Rand Getlin (@Rand_Getlin) April 15, 2016
I am sure teams will find things they like about Wentz and Goff more than Mariota and Winston. But to say they now have them graded out higher than Winston and Mariota? It's no surprise our Bucs blog laughs at that notion. It is entirely possible one or both ends up putting together a great rookie year and/or a great career. But for now it feels like another example of just needing to get through this final part of the pre-draft process as soon as humanly possible.
