49ers mock draft database 2016: It's OT and DT for the time being

We don't have a consensus at this point. It's a lot of DeForest Buckner and Ronnie Stanley.

The Tennessee Titans-Los Angeles Rams trade for the No. 1 pick shook up mock drafts, and has gotten the QB position mostly sorted out. There are still plenty of folks not going 1-2 with some combination of Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, but the consensus has swung close enough in that direction.

I updated our NN mock draft database, and while there are still a few quarterback picks, most have gone away from that. There were seven QB picks among the 29 picks, including three Paxton Lynch, and two each of Jared Goff and Carson Wentz. There were also seven offensive tackle and seven defensive tackle picks, all of whom happened to be Ronnie Stanley and DeForest Buckner, respectively.

Buckner is not a surprising pick. The Rams move up dramatically increases the chances one of the four main defensive players slips to No. 7. Buckner is a guy who has slipped to No. 7 or No. 8 even before the trade, so I would expect him to be mocked to the 49ers.

Ronnie Stanley is a little more surprising with some of the options still available in these mock drafts. Of course, the 49ers need to improve their offensive line, so adding a tackle would not be a shock. There are very mixed opinions about Stanley, but I don't think people would be stunned by the selection.

The three Paxton Lynch selections are a little odd. Somehow his name has crept up mock drafts, with the 49ers among several teams grabbing him. He was a guy many thought might last until the bottom of the first round, but suddenly people are projecting him as high as No. 7. I don't know what to make of it. Potentially just a big over-correction?
