Thankfully, the Josh Norman sweepstakes didn't last long and, thankfully, the talented cornerback didn't settle for the San Francisco 49ers. A true talent at the position, Norman is getting stupidly large amounts of money from Washington and the 49ers really aren't in a position to spend that kind of money on one position.
Of course, they have a ton of cap space and it sure would be nice if they spent it somewhere, I just didn't think the idea of devoting so much of it to a cornerback was a good idea. But I really am happy for Norman, taking the Washington for a ride to the tune of $35 million guaranteed.
That's stupid money, that's money that I have to mentally distance myself from to even be able to critique it. I'm guessing Washington will be regretting that contract in the coming years. Given I hate Washington, I'll enjoy it if that happens.
