The San Francisco 49ers made DeForest Buckner their first round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and the young man was naturally a little bit excited. Buckner was invited to Chicago for the draft, but he chose to stay in Hawaii with his family. He had a draft party in Oahu, and a couple videos popped up from the event. They show the eruption as his name is called by Roger Goodell on TV.
Hawaii is home to a lot of 49ers fans, and he said that a lot of his family are 49ers fans. Hawaii is still a haul from the Bay Area, but it is safe to say we can expect a few members of the Buckner family to be in attendance at Levi's Stadium this season.
Buckner has likely begun his trek east to the Bay Area for his introductory press conference. In the meantime, here is the video from his selection.
