Golden Nuggets: 49ers less doomed today than they were yesterday

New, comments

Friday, April 29, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Good morning everyone! All the doom and gloom that I usually serve up can briefly be set aside because there are a couple new San Francisco 49ers players, and those players are pretty dang good as far as I'm concerned. Trent Baalke is a weird, weird general manager from where I sit, and I did not have faith that he'd take advantage of the draft positioning to take the best players.

Personally, I think taking a defensive lineman is a bit of a luxury, but I don't see how anybody could be dissatisfied with landing someone like DeForest Buckner. He's a great player and while the 49ers now have some big decisions about their defensive front seven, any problem at this point would be a good problem to have.

I'm also a big fan of trading up to take Joshua Garnett, though I'll likely have more to say about that later. For now, let's just get to your links for the day.
