NFL Draft 2016: Day 3 results live blog

New, comments

Welcome back for Day 3 of the 2016 NFL Draft. This is the day for the diehards. We get four rounds and a whole bunch of picks. There were 98 picks the first three days, while day three alone has 155 picks. Time to buckle in for the long haul

The San Francisco 49ers will be plenty active on Saturday. They have eight picks, including one in the 4th, three in the 5th, three in the 6th, and one in the 7th. Four of the picks are comp picks, which means they cannot be traded (that starts next year). The 49ers first pick is No. 133 overall, No. 35 in the fourth round. It is a comp pick so they cannot move up from it. They hold the third and sixth picks in the fifth round, so they do have ammunition to move further up in the fourth round for another pick. Anything is possible!

Here are the 49ers picks completed, and still to come

1. First round: DeForest Buckner, DT, Oregon
2. First round: Joshua Garnett, OG, Stanford
3. Third round: Will Redmond, CB, Mississippi State
4. Fourth round: Comp pick - No. 35 (133)
5. Fifth round: San Diego Chargers (2015 draft-day trade) - No. 3 (142)
6. Fifth round: Own pick - No. 6 (145)
7. Fifth round: Comp pick - No. 37 (174)
8. Sixth round: Denver Broncos (Vernon Davis trade) - No. 32 (207)
9. Sixth round: Comp pick - No. 36 (211)
10. Sixth round: Comp pick - No. 38 (213)
11. Seventh: Kansas City Chiefs (2016 draft-day trade) - No. 28 (249)

I've embedded SB Nation's draft tracker widget below. It updates the last pick, and who is on the clock. You can track the full draft results here, with links included to reactions on all the picks.
