In the not-so-surprising-news category, 49ers headlines are still dominated by the trade/non-trade rumors surrounding Colin Kaepernick. The sticking point is who amongst the three parties (Kap, the Broncos, or the 49ers) gets to shoulder the contested $4.9M pay cut that Denver is seeking. Clearly the 49ers are the ones who can afford it the most but they also have the least incentive to do so. There is no hurry to get this trade done so we will probably see this drag on at least until the Draft. It looks like a slow motion version of who blinks first, and I think all three sides are prepared for the necessary eye strain. On to our links!
