We've reached the point in this where sources are offering up specific percentages for whether or not Colin Kaepernick will stay with the San Francisco 49ers! ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sportscenter Thursday morning that a source told him it is 75/25 that Kaepernick stays in Santa Clara with the 49ers. I've embedded the video below, but if there are any issues, you can check out the link here.
Schefter made sure to cover himself by saying things could change between now and the 2016 NFL Draft. Schefter's report probably means a deal gets done tomorrow, but I will stick with my prediction that a trade happens on the Friday of the draft. The first round will be a wrap, and we'll have a better idea what quarterbacks are still available. Maybe the Broncos get Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook late in the first round. Maybe one or both is gone, or the team passes, and decides to pull the trigger on a trade.
In the meantime, Kaepernick continues to work on his rehab at the 49ers facility. I would love to be a fly on the wall for any meetings he has with Chip Kelly.
