Golden Nuggets: Learning more from rookie college position coaches

New, comments

San Francisco 49ers links for Friday, May 13, 2016.

Good morning! And of course, happy Friday the 13th! Hopefully it works out ok for you.

This is the last weekend before four weeks of OTAs. They are not every day of the next four weeks, but they require enough media availability that we'll have some new information to overanalyze. After that, things quiet down again until training camp in late July. Another benchmark leading up to the 2016 season!

The beat writers have begun the process of speaking with college position coaches for the various rookies. We'll be looking into that as well, but for now, Eric Branch and Matt Barrows have interesting interviews with college position coaches for Will Redmond and Jeff Driskel. Both happen to be ex-NFL players, so they certainly have an idea of what it takes to compete at the next level. I suppose Tim Rattay didn't have great success in the NFL, but he had a brief career. So, hello to an old friend1
