The San Francisco 49ers invested a sixth round pick in Florida running back Kelvin Taylor, and it's safe to say he is excited about the opportunity. Shortly after the 49ers selected Taylor, he posted this tweet.
Trust 49ers nation I'm going do it like my big brother did it frank gore! #WITNESS!!!!

I think we'd all love to see someone do it like Frank Gore did it, but I'm guessing we are not going to get ahead of ourselves quite yet. Gore slipped in the draft because of knee issues, but he was viewed as supremely talented when healthy. Taylor is talented, but there are some questions about his ceiling in the NFL. There is agreement on him having a strong work ethic, but his speed and power raise some questions.
Of course, the 49ers have enough questions at the position, that there will be plenty of opportunities for Taylor. Carlos Hyde is the No. 1 back, but he'll need to stay healthy. After Hyde, there is a lot of inexperience, and some limited ceilings. Shaun Draughn and DuJuan Harris showed some things last season, but both are journeyman backs for a reason. Mike Davis has draft pedigree, but struggled to do much of anything last season. It opens the door for Taylor to impress.
The 49ers rookies are well into the team's offseason workout program, but I wanted to point out a fun tweet from rookie minicamp. Taylor and other players have been doing something called FOX Sports: PROcast in which they shoot some first-person video. Here is Taylor checking out the 49ers locker room.
A dream come true! @49ers rookie @Kelvintaylor21 is in the Big Boy locker room and he's soaking it all in. #PROcasthttps://t.co/7LCQ3E3z7L
