The 2015 season was not a pretty year for the San Francisco 49ers franchise, but there was one particular highlight. All-world linebacker NaVorro Bowman returned from his devastating 2014 NFC title game knee injury, and earned all sorts of honors. He can add another one as he was voted back into the NFL Network Top 100. You can watch their video here.
The NFL's list comes through player voting. While we never get an accurate list of players who actually vote, this is still a great sign of respect for Bowman. It was a great comeback for Bowman, who led the NFL in tackles, and was voted first team All Pro. Not too bad for a guy who missed the entire 2014 season.
I think most of us would agree that Bowman had some rust to shake off early in the season. I don't think he was necessarily tentative, but the layoff was pretty obvious. However, as the season moved along, he seemed to move better and better. By the end of the season, he was looking more like the Bowman of old.
Now that he has that full season under his belt, I am psyched to see what he looks like this fall. If Bowman stays healthy, I have little doubt he will be back on the Top 100 list next year.
