The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their final day of OTAs on Thursday, and there is at least a modest development in the Colin Kaepernick situation. The 49ers QB has been throwing on the side as part of the rehab process, but today was the first time the media saw him throwing on the practice field during warmups. Jennifer Chan was on hand and got a short video of Kap throwing.

The 49ers medical staff has not fully cleared Kaepernick to practice. Offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins was asked when Kaepernick might resume practicing, and he had this to say:
"I have no idea. We as coaches, our jobs are to coach who’s out there on the field practicing. Whenever they say Colin’s healthy, I’m sure he’ll be there. He’s around us, he’s in the meetings, he’s doing a great job. It’s not up to me when he’s released, so we’ll see."
The 49ers have mandatory minicamp next week, which runs Tuesday through Thursday. It is possible we see Kap back on the field for that final session. I'm not holding my breath on that, as I see the medical staff just waiting it out and thus giving Kap the rest of June and July to hopefully be at 100 percent for training camp.
