Golden Nuggets: Which QB Should Start?

The San Francisco 49ers offseason storylines mostly revolve around 2 main topics. One topic being who win the 49ers starting quarterback position between Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert; the other being will Chip Kelly be able to improve this offense.

Normally, when a football team has a quarterback competition for the starting spot, the team will likely not be competing for a Super Bowl. The 49ers are not expected to be very competitive this year, but the QB competition in training camp should be interesting. Most people want to see if Chip can get back Colin back to his pre-2014 form. He was one of the elite playmakers in the NFL when the 49ers were competing for Super Bowls, but has taken a step back since and lost his confidence.

Last season, Blaine Gabbert looked like a serviceable QB, but never looked like a QB that could cause a defense problems. If Chip can fix the issue with Colin, then the 49ers may be able to pose a problem. Teams are not worried about facing Gabbert, but facing Colin with confidence could pose a problem. If Chip can get Colin to be a playmaker again, the rest of the NFL could be in for a tough season against the 49ers.
