Good morning! Not much really going on in the world of the San Francisco 49ers directly. That is, unless if you were one of the few hopefuls thinking the team would get a crack at Andrew Luck in 2017, you just got the worst news of your life. He just got PAID to stay with the Indianapolis Colts. Sorry to ruin your day.
Granted, as the clock was ticking, speculating on what could happen wasn’t a bad thing, especially after Luck’s underwhelming season last year that was ended due to injury. But come on, you really think the Colts would let that guy walk? We saw what happened to them the last time they didn’t have a quarterback—they were able to draft Luck. I don’t see another Luck type prospect to land if he leaves.
There was no way he was leaving the Colts. The Colts knew too, that’s why they broke every piggy bank in the area to sign him. Besides, Andrew Luck in a Chip Kelly offense? That just sounds...weird.
