Good morning! Hope everybody had a great weekend. I went out of town for a couple days, and was able to get offline a decent amount. It was kind of relaxing. Might as well get this in while I still have some time before training camp begins.
One person still looking for work heading into camp is wide receiver Anquan Boldin. The Cincinnati Bengals official website spoke with the team’s director of player personnel Duke Tobin, and asked him if the team was interested in the free agent. Tobin said that while does not like to say yes or no on any player, the team has not had discussions with Boldin. The Bengals did sign Brandon LaFell in late March, and drafted Pitt receiver Tyler Boyd in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
I would think someone will sign Boldin at some point, but will it happen by the start of a training camp, or will a team add him once they have a better handle on their younger receivers? The Carolina Panthers make sense, as do the New England Patriots. Really, any team that is competitive for a Super Bowl would make sense. Boldin is no spring chicken in the NFL, but he is still an incredibly productive receiver. Hopefully he lands somewhere soon.
It remains relatively quiet from a link perspective. Chris Biderman is up to No. 3 on his ranking of the top 25 49ers heading into 2016, going with Carlos Hyde. Feel free to drop any other links you find into the comments.
