The Miami Dolphins added some valuable depth to their running back rotation on Monday, signing free agent Arian Foster to a one-year incentive-laden contract. The deal includes a $400,000 signing bonus, and an additional $1.1 million in base salary and other potential bonuses. Additionally, there are $2 million in incentives that could push the deal up to $3.5 million. Only the $400,000 is guaranteed at signing, and they could release him before Week 1 and owe him nothing else.
Foster has been rehabbing his Achilles, which he tore on October 25. He should be able to be back in time for training camp, but it is not a certainty. He will compete with jay Ajayi for the starting role, with Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake competing for additional work. The 49ers travel to face the Dolphins November 27.
