I’m always down for fun video of San Francisco 49ers greats. So why not a little Jerry Rice video today? There has been plenty of discussion about Rice’s slow 40 time coming out of college, but his football speed was spectacular. There were likely some poor angles on this play, but Rice could find spots as well as anybody.
This touchdown came during the 49ers 1995 road win over the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers entered the game 5-4, with Elvis Grbac playing in place of an injured Steve Young. The Cowboys were 8-1 and expected to roll in this one.
I actually remember watching this game, and going nuts as the 49ers sprung the huge road win. Troy Aikman was injured in the first quarter, while the 49ers jumped out to a 24-0 lead by the middle of the second quarter. The Cowboys never really threatened in the game, with the 49ers winning 38-20. It was the start of a 6-game win streak, with the 49ers finishing the season 11-5. They would unfortunately lose to the Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs, but I won’t forget the Elvis Grbac win anytime soon.
