NaVorro Bowman, Carlos Hyde included in NFLPA Top 50 merchandise sales list

New, comments

The NFLPA released merchandise numbers for the last quarter, and two 49ers showed up on the top 50 list.

The NFLPA released the latest merchandise sales numbers, looking at March 1-May 31, 2016, and two members of the San Francisco 49ers showed up on the list. NaVorro Bowman is ranked No. 22, and Carlos Hyde is ranked No. 30. You can view the full list below. Dez Bryant is on top, marking the first time a wide receiver has held down that spot.

Back in late April, the NFLPA released merchandise numbers for the preceding fiscal year (March 1, 2015-February 29, 2016). Colin Kaepernick (No. 13) and Jarryd Hayne (No. 43) were the two representatives for the 49ers. This marks the first time in a while that Kaepernick is not included. Getting benched and almost traded will do that for jersey sales.

On the other hand, Bowman could have a strong chance of appearing in the year-long list for the first time since his injury. He has appeared in quarterly reports off and on, but after leading the league in tackles last season, and potentially building on it this season, I imagine sales will be brisk for Bowman gear.
