Golden Nuggets: 49ers rookies, veterans to report on same day

Sunday, July 3rd, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Good morning everyone. There isn’t a whole lot going on right now when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers. The team has announced it will begin training camp on July 31, with the first padded practice scheduled for Aug. 2.

Notably, the 49ers have decided against having rookies and first-year players show up before veterans, and instead will have everyone report at the same time. Not sure we can really predict why Chip Kelly chose to do it this way or if it will have an appreciable affect on anything when it comes to the locker room.

Basically, the gist of what I took from reading the report is that the NFL’s rules on when some teams can and cannot start camp are hopelessly convoluted, likely thanks to the collective bargaining agreement. I’m not sure why it matters that the Los Angeles Rams are allowed to have one more day of practice than the 49ers but it sure seems to.

Let’s get to your links for the day.
