Each year, we run a series of post called "90-in-90" here at Niners Nation. The idea is that we'll take a look at every single player on the roster, from the very bottom to the top and break them down a few different ways. This is to help give everyone a basic understanding of a roster. Of course, this roster will change, and some days we'll have more than one so it's not strictly one per day but you get the idea.
We’re back with our third video version of the 90-in-90 series. Socalisteph and 49ersfangirl are going to put together some video versions of our regular 90-in-90 articles, which will be used in place of written articles. They will be covering seven players between now and the start of training camp. 49ersfangirl (Tracy Sandler) is back with rookie defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
The 49ers used the No. 7 pick on the Oregon defensive lineman, and will look for him to contribute from day one. He’ll likely open the season as part of their nickel sub-package. He could eventually move into the starting lineup, but I imagine we see an extensive rotation for the time being, particularly once Glenn Dorsey is healthy. The defensive line depth is a strength on this team. I don’t think there is a rush to get Buckner into the "starting lineup," since we’ll see plenty of different variations on the line.
Here is a full list of 90-in-90 articles completed thus far, separated out by position. We’re getting closer to training camp!
