49ers jerseys are out and ready in the locker room

Yep, that’s Colin Kaepernick’s jersey. No word yet on if he’ll play vs. Houston.

The San Francisco 49ers kick off their 2016 preseason schedule against the Houston Texans in a few hours, and the uniforms are out and ready. The team’s Twitter account posted four pictures from the locker room earlier today. Those cherry and white uniforms with the gold pants remain so sweet.

One of the pictures includes three of the four quarterback jerseys. We see from left to right, Thad Lewis, Blaine Gabbert, and Colin Kaepernick. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jeff Driskel’s was in a temporary space with some of the other rookies. The 90-man roster means a packed house in the locker room. The 49ers locker room is huge, but there is still only so many permanent lockers.

We still haven’t heard if Colin Kaepernick will play on Sunday, but he’s at least got a uniform to wear, so I suppose that’s something. I would not be at all surprised to see him not play today given the lack of throwing on Thursday and Friday. He still could wear the uniform and pads, and just not get on the field, but we’ll see in a few hours.
