Here’s video of Christian Ponder’s 22-yard TD run

Christian Ponder made his San Francisco 49ers debut on Saturday, only four days after signing with the team. All things considered, it got off to a solid start. On his first drive, he led the team on a 15-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. He completed 5-of-6 passes for 33 yards, targeting Jerome Simpson three times, and connecting twice for ten yards.

Ponder capped the drive with a fancy little bit of running. The Broncos followed the running back on the zone read, and Ponder elected to keep the ball. He turned and ran outside to the right and scored with ease. Here is video of the run, followed by a look at Ponder’s celebration with Devon Cajuste. There’s no quarterback controversy yet with Ponder, but it’s a nice start to however long his time is with the team.
