Christian Ponder was the best quarterback on the football field on Saturday, and that is truly depressing. Ponder is, of course, a special player for me, as he is the one I consider to have completely ruined my "perfect game" as it were. See, if you've been around Niners Nation for a long while, you may know that I took a good deal of pride in my quarterback evaluations, and didn't recognize any big misses until I completely and utterly doubled down on Ponder pre-draft.
I mean, I went in hard on him. Arguments were had. Insults were thrown. People who'd done nothing wrong were yelled at because they'd done nothing wrong while also not being particularly fond of Ponder. And then he came into the league and he was terrible. He's still terrible -- don't get me wrong. I've given up on my Ponder pick. That ship has sailed, realized it had forgotten to pack the sales and then sunk in shallow waters on the return voyage.
But he just had to kick me while I'm down by going out there and looking vaguely like he might know how to play the position. The nerve of some people, I tell you what. Anyway, let's get to your links because I haven't got all night.
