Colin Kaepernick on track, but playing time decision TBD

The San Francisco 49ers face the Green Bay Packers on Friday, and it is yet to be determined what kind of playing time Colin Kaepernick will see. Chip Kelly said on Wednesday that Kaepernick has been full go the first two days of practice, and is on track to play on Friday. However, he said the coaches would finish up practice today and tomorrow, and then discuss the plans for Friday.

Kaepernick missed a week-and-a half of practice and the first two preseason games. He threw extensively on Saturday before the game, and Kelly said he has been splitting first team reps evenly with Blaine Gabbert on Monday and Tuesday.

Kelly was asked about the potential of playing all four quarterbacks on Friday. He would not go into details, other than to say if they want to see what all four can do, they need play all four. My guess is we see the Gabbert and Kaepernick playing into the third quarter, in some sort of rotation. Then we see Driskel and Ponder split up the final quarter-and-a-half. Another option is just going with one quarter for each quarterback. My guess though is we see more of Gabbert and Kaepernick on Friday.
