The Colin Kaepernick Saga has gained rays of hope now that Kap is throwing the ball again. San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly has said Kap will play on Friday with the 1’s and, barring disaster, we’ll finally get a good look at Kaepernick in this new system. Considering that Blaine Gabbert was only mildly improved in his second preseason outing, Kaepernick certainly still has a chance to impress.

Meanwhile, in other NFL news, the San Diego Chargers and their 2016 1st round pick, Joey Bosa, continue to be far apart in a deal. Keep in mind, this is the same organization that had issues drafting Eli Manning in 2004. If Bosa does decide to sit out this year, he will be eligible for next year’s draft and San Diego will have wasted a 1st round pick. The biggest name that comes to mind in this situation is Bo Jackson, who in 1986 famously refused to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after an incident costing him his NCAA eligibility. He was then drafted by the Raiders in the 1987 draft.
