This is not a good start to my weekend. The San Francisco 49ers’ 3rd preseason game, and the one where the starters will play the most before the regular season begins, didn’t inspire much confidence for the offense. The team couldn’t seem to get anything going at all not counting a quick Blaine Gabbert touchdown in the 1st quarter.
There’s a lot of things to pick apart as far as what exactly happened in the game, but all I’ll say is while Kaepernick had a lot of rust, Gabbert wasn’t exactly that much better. He had a nice touchdown drive, but again did nothing to elevate himself in this quarterback battle.
I guess we’ll be going into week 4 of the preaseason to see how the two of them do against backups before we’ll have any confirmation on who starts. I still think we’ll see both of them this season, Week 1 will be interesting. Onto the links!
What a horrible night to have a curse...
