EA Sports released Madden 17 recently, and they are in the midst of providing updates to make the game more realistic throughout the season. This will include announcers Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis making regular appearances at their studios to provide updated audio.
And now, it will include the San Francisco 49ers controversial topic. EA Sports confirmed to Gamespot (via Polygon) that in an upcoming update to the game, there would be a reference to Colin Kaepernick’s controversial protest.
"Kaepernick's decision will be briefly mentioned in-game, reflecting our commitment to authenticity in Madden NFL 17," a senior publicist for EA Sports said. "Overall, our new commentary will mainly center around on-field performance, as well as major news like trades, free agency signings, and injuries.
So, if you picked up the newest Madden, keep an eye out for the update, which I imagine will come sooner rather than later. This is aside, I’m pleased that they decided to change announcers, and are adding updates throughout the season. One problem I always had with Madden (although I haven’t played it much recently) was the repetitive commentary. This could make for a slightly more interesting game.
