Golden Nuggets: Eddie DeBartolo enshrined in Canton

Sunday, August 7th, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

On Saturday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony took place, officially inducting the Class of 2016 into its ranks. Former San Francisco 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo was among them, and it was great to see and hear when he gave his speech.

He told a number of interesting stories and maybe he went on a little long — but his path to the Hall has taken far too long already. He deserved all the time in the world to talk about whatever it was he wanted to. I wish he was still in charge, but I’m not going to fool myself into thinking that even he could have sustained a dynasty this long so it’s not like that would be a guarantee the 49ers would be better off in the here and now.

Still. Go watch his speech if you missed it, 49ers fans. Also training camp is still happening and practices and stuff are happening.
