NaVorro Bowman beats Chip Kelly at 49ers bowling event

Over the weekend, the San Francisco 49ers had a team bowling event at AMF Moonlite Lanes following practice. Most teams have some kind of team-building exercise or other fun night out, and the 49ers decided to go with bowling. I give that decision a thumbs-up!

The most important news out of this is that NaVorro Bowman had the top score, finishing with a 171. Second place was Chip Kelly at 152. Cam Inman is reporting Quinton Patton actually finished with a 218. Here are some other notable scores from the evening:

Carlos Hyde: 151 points
Joe Staley: 147 points
Deforest Buckner: 145 points
Colin Kaepernick: 140 points
Arik Armstead: 118 points

I’m not a great bowler, but I can get up over 100 on a fairly regular basis. My best game ever saw me crack 200 a few years ago. Normally at my best I don’t get above 150 or 160, so that was a pretty big one for me. Usually it takes me a couple games to get in a groove and that first game will be under 100.

Matt Barrows tweeted about the scores as well, and that got a great response from an Eagles beat writer. I wonder if Carlos Hyde decided to purposely come in just under his head coach?

Here are a couple pictures, and a video of Garrison Smith bowling:
