In news that I imagine surprises nobody, the San Francisco 49ers will have Colin Kaepernick starting at quarterback against the San Diego Chargers. Chip Kelly announced on Tuesday that Blaine Gabbert would not play on Thursday, so it seemed likely that Kaepernick would get the first snaps. More than likely, Jeff Driskel will come on second, followed by Christian Ponder.
We will not see the full first team offensive line in front of Kaepernick. Kelly suggested some members of the line will not play. My guess is Joe Staley, Zane Beadles, and Daniel Kilgore don’t play, but we’ll likely find out when the team makes their pre-game inactives announcement.
The more important thing to take from all this is the video Flanagan tweeted with her news. We saw Kaepernick sporting more of an afro last weekend. Today, it’s significantly bigger. I gotta say, it’s pretty impressive.
