The San Francisco 49ers posted their final injury report for Week 1, and in an unexpected move, the team listed right guard Anthony Davis as questionable, having not participated in Satursay's practice. Cam Inman is reporting that he is currently with family pondering retirement.
The team has no media availability between now and Monday. Matt Maiocco reached out to Davis's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who offered up a no comment.
Davis retired last year, sitting out the season to collect his thoughts and get healthy. He returned at the start of training camp this year, and proceeded to claim the starting right guard position. If he is unable to go on Monday, Andrew Tiller would likely replace him. Joshua Garnett can play right guard, but has focused on left guard and likely would remain in that reserve role.
The 49ers play late on Monday, so sometime between now and then we will hopefully hear formal word.
